I want to make a hexie quilt to donate to the „Weserbergländer Herzen helfen e.V.“ ,
and I’m looking for diligent helpers to sew hexies. Come by Booth 26 on Friday or Saturday morning: when the cash registers are behind you, it’s to the right of the big glass window.
I’ll provide you with template papers, fabric and thread – but it would be helpful if you can bring your own needle! I do have some, but if there are a lot of flashmobbers there might not be enough. If you’re not familiar with English paper piecing (EPP), I’ll be happy to show you how it’s done.
The flashmob starts on Saturday, 4th May at noon. Wherever you are sitting or standing, when you hear the announcement you should stop everything else and start sewing! Hopefully there will be lots of people sewing in the vendors hall and in the exhibition, all at the same time!
It would be fantastic if you could take photos of each other, or your group – just the sewing hands will do. Please send them by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or post them on Instagram with #flashmobNadelwelt or #rlebt. Bring the hexies back to my booth when you’re finished. I will sew everything together and make a quilt from it after the fair, and then show everyone what it looks like on Facebook and Instagram.
If you arrive after the noon flashmob, or on Sunday, you can still help to make the quilt. You can collect the materials at my booth, make some hexies and bring them back to me before you leave.
You can join in even if you can’t come to the show. Use 2 cm paper templates and some scraps to make hexies, and then send them to me. If you send me a message I will give you my address. Maybe you could even sew on Saturday at noon, and be with us in spirit.
I’m looking forward to many helping hands!
