Und jetzt sind tatsächlich nur noch blaue Sechsecke übrig die ich feststecken muss.
Hurra, die Wasserpflanzen sind fertig! Ich hatte Angst, das ich noch zuviele grüne übrig habe, aber der Platz hat gerade so gereicht. Es war ganz schön spannend.

Yay, the waterplants are done! I feared that I had too many green ones left but the space was just right.
Erstmal wurde gepackt und ab gings an die Ostsee. Davon habe ich ja hier schon berichtet.
Aber ich habe ja versprochen den Fortschritt an meinem riesigen MiniSechseck Quilt zu teilen, da lief nämlich einiges!

Jetzt habe ich schon fast das zweite Viertel zusammen genäht. Die Papier Teilchen, um die die Stoffsechsecke geheftet sind, sind alle draussen.
I’m almost done sewing all the eighth of the second part of four together. And all the paper pieces that were covered by fabric are gone.

Worauf ich noch stolz bin: Bonnie Hunter, eine berühmte amerikanische Quilterin die jeden Tag bloggt und viele Bücher geschrieben hat und super tolle Tips gibt, hat meinen Quilt schon ein paar mal erwähnt, und erst letztens sogar meine ganze Email mit Fotos in ihrem blog veröffentlicht.
Another thing I am very proud of is that Bonnie Hunter, a welknown american Quilter who blogs every day and writes books and gives such wonderful tips, mentioned my quilt a few times and posted my whole email with pictures on her blog.
….habe ich diese kleine Stickerei, ein Geschenk von unserem lieben Besuch aus England im Herbst 2016.
Erst hat es lange darauf gewartet, das ich mal anfange, und dann habe ich immer wieder am Esstisch sitzend gestickt, wenn wir uns noch ein bisschen dort unterhalten haben oder irgendwer noch gegessen hat, ich aber fertig war.

I embroidered this little gift we got from our lovely visitor in autumn 2016. It had to wait some time for me to start it, but then I worked on it while still sitting at the dinner table and talking or waiting for others to finish eating.
Es wurde kurz nach Weihnachten letztes Jahr fertig, dachte ich, aber als gerade diesen Beitrag schrieb fiel mir auf, das da noch ein paar Stiche fehlen.
It was done after christms last year, at least I thought so, but while writing this post I realized there were some stitches missing.
Deswegen habe ich es gerade noch kurz fertiggetellt.

Im Juli bekam ich von einer Freundin den Auftrag Kissenhüllen für eine Fünfköpfige Familie als Weihnachtsgeschenke zu nähen.
Weil ich ja immer versuche alles Zeitnah zu erledigen, (Witzle, he? ☺), habe ich mir erstmal lange Gedanken gemacht, wie ich diese Aufgabe erledigen soll.
Hexagon Pillowcases
A friend asked me to sew pillowcases for a family of five for christmas.
And because I usually finish things promptly, (good joke, eh? ☺), I thought for some time how to make them.
Bei Klaudia habe ich eine tolle Tasche mit Jeans Sechsecken gesehen und das wollte ich unbedingt auch mal nähen. Und weil die Kissenhüllen in die USA gehen und ich etwas Europäisches machen sollte, dachte ich, English Paper Piecing passt doch. Das ganze auf modern, und dann passt es zu den Jeans Sechsecken. Und schwupps waren die Geschenke fertig!
Ja,von wegen…. die Jeans Ecken waren schon schnell verteilt, aber alle einzeln annähen…. das hat gedauert. Aber das moderne EPP (English Paper Piecing) hat mich ans Ende meines Geduldsfadens gebracht. Ich habe sie nämlich auf Kuscheliges Fleece genäht und das hat sich in alle Richtungen gedehnt…. aber das Ergebnis gefällt mir trotzdem sehr. Ich hoffe den beschenkten auch.
At Klaudias blog I saw a bag with hexagons made out of jeans which I really liked and wanted to make, too. And since the pillowcases are for people in the USA I was asked to make something european. I came up with English Paper Piecing, which would fit nicely to the jeans hexagons, so I decided on the modern version and there – done.
Ha, I wish it would’ve been that easy. The jeans parts were soon asssembled, but I had to sew them on one by one, which took quite some time. But the modern hexies really took me to the end of my patience, because I sewed them onto fleece, which stretched every which way… but I really like how it turned out, and I hope the recipients will like it, too.

Für den Dezember hatte ich mir extra wenig vorgenommen, trotzdem war er so schnell vorbei.
Erstmal wünsche ich noch ein wunderschönes Neues Jahr! Möge es voller Freude und Spaß sein.
Ich habe meines ganz in Ruhe und Gemütlichkeit an der Ostsee begonnen. Wir waren in einer Ferienwohnung im Emilienhof und genossen dort die Gastfreundschaft und das Meer.

…I can hardly believe that I last posted in November. I hardly made plans for December, but it was gone in no time at all.
First of all I wanna wish you a very happy New Year! May it be filled with wonderful and happy people and things.
I started the new year slow and cozy in a vacation appartement at the Baltic Sea, at the Emilienhof.
Wir machten Ausflüge nach Lübeck.
We visited Lübeck.
Und Fehmarn.
And went to Fehmarn.
Was das Nähtechnische schaffen dort anbelangt, das hat einen eigenen Eintrag verdient. Nicht das es besonders viel war, aber es sieht nach sehr viel aus.
