So sieht es in der Verkaufshalle aus, wenn die Besucher noch Frühstücken oder gerade anreisen.

Und so sah mein Stand dann während der Ausstellung aus. Naja, fast.

Als die Besucher dann reindurften sah es nämlich so aus:

Den ganzen Tag! Das ist die beste Diät überhaupt, ich kam nämlich absolut nicht zum essen und habe es auch nicht vermisst!

All day long! Best diet ever, I just didn´t have time to eat and didn´t miss it, either!

Ich habe von Meerbedeckt erzählt und Fragen beantwortet und erklärt, viele haben gefragt, ob sie ein Foto machen dürfen, was allerdings oft schwer war, wegen der vielen Menschen davor. Meistens habe ich auf das Heft verwiesen, das ich über die Entstehung geschrieben habe, und viele haben es auch wegen der drei Anleitungen gekauft, die mit drin sind. Und es hagelte Komplimente, ich bin bestimmt zehn Zentimeter gewachsen! Und ich habe mich wunderbar unterhalten!

Dann gab es auch noch die Fragen und Erklärungen zu den Sechsecktäschen, der Hexielexiepouch, und den Sechseckschalen, der Hexielexiebowl, ich hatte Anleitungen dazu dabei und Vorlagen, es wurden wohl schon so einige während der Messe und auf der Rückfahrt mit neu gekauften Stoffen angefangen.

I talked about Meerbedeckt and answered questions and explained how I made it, there were lots of requests to take a picture, which was pretty hard, because there were people standing in front of it almost all the time. Usually I referred to the booklet I wrote about the making, and lots of people bought it because of the patterns I included. And I got so many compliments! I grew at least four inches! I had a great time!

Then there were the questions and explanations about the Hexielexiepouch and the the Hexielexiebowl, I sold the patterns for them and there were people who already started making them with new bought fabric right at the fair or on the way back home. 

Die Messeleitung hatte mir netterweise Stühle hingestellt, es saß eigentlich immer wer bei mir und hat Sechsecke für den Spendenquilt geheftet, diese Gruppe zum Beispiel war nur am Freitag da, und weil sie beim Näh-Flashmob am nächsten Tag ja nicht teilnehmen konnten, machten sie einfach schon Freitags mit. Da waren sie nicht die einzigen, die Traypouch auf dem Tisch füllte sich langsam!

The fair management was so nice to put chairs next to me, there were always women or men sitting there and basting hexies for the donation quilt. This group for example only visited on Friday, and since they couldn´t attend the sewing-flashmob on Saturday, they already basted Friday! And they weren´t the only ones, the traypouch was filling up slowly!

Manche hatten sogar zu Hause mit eigenen Stoffen vorgearbeitet, links kann man einzelne schön verpackt erahnen, rechts eine ganze handvoll schon zu Blümchen fertig genähte!

A few even made some beforehand at home, there is a nicely packed stack on the left and some already sewn into flowers on the right!

Abends war ich dann völlig fertig, ich aß eine Kleinigkeit, telefonierte etwas länger mit meinem Lieblingsmädchen und dem besten Ehemann aller Zeiten, stellte noch kurz Fotos bei Instagram ein, und dann horchte ich nur noch die Matratze ab. Der Samstag würde schnell genug kommen.

I was done in when I got to my accomodations, ate a bit, talked to my favourite girl and the best husband of all times, posted some pics on Instagram and then I only listened to myself sleeping. Saturday would be here fast.

Es tut mir sehr leid, dass ich so lange habe nichts von mir hören lassen, dafür hier jetzt ein ausführlicher Bericht über die Ausstellung und den Nähflashmob auf der Nadelwelt in Karlsruhe.

I am very sorry that I kept silent for so long, I will give a detailed report about the exhibition and the sewing flashmob at the Nadelwelt in Karlsruhe.

Für mich ging es am Donnerstag, den 2.5.2019 schon los, so sah mein Ausstellungsplatz aus, inklusive all der Sachen, die ich mitgebracht hatte.

I started on Thursday, 2nd May 2019, this is my space at the exhibition, with all the things I brought with me.

Und da hängt er! Meerbedeckt ist noch viel imposanter wenn er hängt, im Gegensatz zum liegenden Zustand, er ist riesig! Und ich bin immer wieder erstaunt, wie toll die Delfine rauskommen, auch ein richtiger Restequilt!

Zum Glück hatte ich Hilfe beim aufhängen, ich wäre beim ersten Versuch fast mit der Stellwand umgekippt …

Here´s Meerbedeckt in all it´s glory, far more imposing hanging than lying somewhere, it´s huge! And I am so amazed how the Dolphins look, it´s made just from scraps!

Luckily I had help with the hanging, my first try almost ended up with me on the floor on top of my Quilt and the wallspace …

Mein Platz hatte soviel Licht und Platz, falls sich die Leute zum Näh-Flashmob doch bei mir sammeln, anstatt sich über die Messe zu verteilen, das war fantastisch!

Here you can see how light it was and how much space I had for the sewing flashmob, in case people would gather around instead of sewing anywhere.

Zwei Delfine aus 4mm Sechsecken auf meiner Tasche, das habe ich auch noch nicht gezeigt …  diese habe ich allerdings appliziert. Und die Tasche ist damit nur verschönert, nicht selsbstgenäht.

My bag, which I didn´t make myself but embellished with two dolphins, the hexie size is 4 mm, (0.1575 ″, 5/32 ″) , which I appliqued.

So sah mein Platz also am Donnerstag Abend aus.

Alles fertig für den Näh-Flashmob, in der offenen Traypouch sind schon die ersten fertig gehefteten Sechsecke, die ich für Fotos gemacht hatte. Nadel, Faden und Schere liegen bereit, eine kleine Stärkung und die Erklärung, um was es geht. (Für alle, die es noch nicht wissen: Hier könnt ihr es nochmal nachlesen.)

Everything is ready for the sewing-flashmob, there are some basted hexies I made in the open Traypouch. Needles and thread and scissors are there, a little snack and the explanation, what this is all about. (If you wanna know about it, you can go here.)

Und hier meine Anschauungsobjekte, die Stoffschüsseln Hexielexiebowls, und ein Täschchen Hexielexiepouch auf der linken Seite. Die Anleitungen dazu liegen hier noch nicht auf dem Tisch. In der anderen Schüssel rechts waren am Anfang noch die Stoffstückchen und Papierschablonen für den Spendenquilt.

Hier liegen noch die Hefte über die Entstehung von Meerbedeckt, in denen auch Anleitungen für drei einfachere Quilts beeinhaltet sind, unter anderem die Delfine im Sonnenuntergang.

Damit beschließe ich den Donnerstag, der Tag das Aufbaus.
