Es tut mir sehr leid, dass ich so lange habe nichts von mir hören lassen, dafür hier jetzt ein ausführlicher Bericht über die Ausstellung und den Nähflashmob auf der Nadelwelt in Karlsruhe.

 

I am very sorry that I kept silent for so long, I will give a detailed report about the exhibition and the sewing flashmob at the Nadelwelt in Karlsruhe.

 

Für mich ging es am Donnerstag, den 2.5.2019 schon los, so sah mein Ausstellungsplatz aus, inklusive all der Sachen, die ich mitgebracht hatte.

I started on Thursday, 2nd May 2019, this is my space at the exhibition, with all the things I brought with me.

 

Und da hängt er! Meerbedeckt ist noch viel imposanter wenn er hängt, im Gegensatz zum liegenden Zustand, er ist riesig! Und ich bin immer wieder erstaunt, wie toll die Delfine rauskommen, auch ein richtiger Restequilt!

Zum Glück hatte ich Hilfe beim aufhängen, ich wäre beim ersten Versuch fast mit der Stellwand umgekippt …

 

Here´s Meerbedeckt in all it´s glory, far more imposing hanging than lying somewhere, it´s huge! And I am so amazed how the Dolphins look, it´s made just from scraps!

Luckily I had help with the hanging, my first try almost ended up with me on the floor on top of my Quilt and the wallspace …

 

Mein Platz hatte soviel Licht und Platz, falls sich die Leute zum Näh-Flashmob doch bei mir sammeln, anstatt sich über die Messe zu verteilen, das war fantastisch!

Here you can see how light it was and how much space I had for the sewing flashmob, in case people would gather around instead of sewing anywhere.

 

Zwei Delfine aus 4mm Sechsecken auf meiner Tasche, das habe ich auch noch nicht gezeigt …  diese habe ich allerdings appliziert. Und die Tasche ist damit nur verschönert, nicht selsbstgenäht.

My bag, which I didn´t make myself but embellished with two dolphins, the hexie size is 4 mm, (0.1575 ″, 5/32 ″) , which I appliqued.

 

So sah mein Platz also am Donnerstag Abend aus.

Alles fertig für den Näh-Flashmob, in der offenen Traypouch sind schon die ersten fertig gehefteten Sechsecke, die ich für Fotos gemacht hatte. Nadel, Faden und Schere liegen bereit, eine kleine Stärkung und die Erklärung, um was es geht. (Für alle, die es noch nicht wissen: Hier könnt ihr es nochmal nachlesen.)

 

Everything is ready for the sewing-flashmob, there are some basted hexies I made in the open Traypouch. Needles and thread and scissors are there, a little snack and the explanation, what this is all about. (If you wanna know about it, you can go here.)

 

Und hier meine Anschauungsobjekte, die Stoffschüsseln Hexielexiebowls, und ein Täschchen Hexielexiepouch auf der linken Seite. Die Anleitungen dazu liegen hier noch nicht auf dem Tisch. In der anderen Schüssel rechts waren am Anfang noch die Stoffstückchen und Papierschablonen für den Spendenquilt.

To the left are the visual objects of the Hexielexiebowl and the Hexielexiepouch, I hadn´t put the patterns on the table yet. The bowl to the right is filled with fabricscraps and papertemplates for the donation quilt.

 

 

Hier liegen noch die Hefte über die Entstehung von Meerbedeckt, in denen auch Anleitungen für drei einfachere Quilts beeinhaltet sind, unter anderem die Delfine im Sonnenuntergang.

Damit beschließe ich den Donnerstag, der Tag das Aufbaus.
